This summer, threesquared is excited to present an exhibition of works by Nashville-based artist and Watkins alumnus Matt Christy from June 29 through July 31, 2012. Arguing Alone is Lonely will feature paintings, prints, textiles, video works, and drawings. Having recently been accepted into the University of Oregon’s Master of Fine Arts program, Christy will be relocating to Eugene, Oregon this fall.
In an effort to showcase Christy’s long-time tradition of incorporating a wide variety of media into his artwork, this exhibition uses a potent visual theme to tie the works together. The depicted formation of a crowd—a mass of people, cars, or abstracted forms—provides a visual anchor to the works presented.
The opening art party will be held on Friday, June 29 from 6 to 9 pm. Wine and light refreshments will be served. Parking is free. A screening of Christy’s video works will be held on July 14 at 8 pm.
